Here are some beliefs of the shinto Religion:
- the Shinto "Gods" called kami sacred spirits that take the form of important to life( wind, rain, mountains, trees, fertility)
- Shinto is a polytheistic religion
- The Sun Goddess Amaterasu is considered the most important kami
- Death is bad and impure
- Some people become kami after death
- Humans are pure by nature and can keep away evil through purification rituals and attain good things by calling on the kami
- People go to shrines to worship and pray
- There is no official script but some people study the Kajiki(Record of the Ancient Matters) and the Nihonagi(Chronicles of Japan)
- There is no absolute right and wrong
- Nobody is perfect
- It is an optimistic faith
- People who are in touch with their original pure nature instinctively know what is right and wrong.
- Males are the priests of the shrines.
